Novus ("we", "our", or "us") provides a note-taking and knowledge organization service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account or sign in, we may collect your email address, user ID, and authentication information provided through our login providers.

Content You Provide

When you use Novus, we store content you submit to the service, including notes, documents, folders, uploaded files, prompts, instructions, workspace content, and AI-generated outputs associated with your workspace.

Payment Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We may receive limited billing-related information such as your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and payment status. We do not store full payment card details ourselves.

Usage and Technical Information

We may collect technical and usage information such as log data, browser type, device information, pages viewed, actions taken in the product, and general analytics and performance data.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to provide and operate Novus, create and manage your account, store and sync your notes and workspace content, process payments and subscriptions, generate summaries and other AI-assisted outputs, improve product performance and reliability, detect abuse or misuse, and respond to support requests.

3. AI Processing

Novus may use third-party AI providers to process content you submit, such as notes, prompts, instructions, and related workspace data, in order to provide AI-powered features like summarization, organization, drafting, content suggestions, and workflow automation.

AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated content before relying on it.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with trusted service providers that help us operate Novus, including Supabase for authentication and database infrastructure, Stripe for billing and payment processing, AI providers for AI-assisted product features, and analytics or hosting providers to monitor and improve the service.

We may also share information if required by law, to enforce our terms or protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

If you delete content or request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize information within a reasonable period, subject to technical, backup, and legal constraints.

6. Your Choices

You may update or delete certain content within the app, stop using the service at any time, or request deletion of your account or data by contacting us at novusdoc.support@gmail.com.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Novus is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. International Processing

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, depending on the location of our service providers and infrastructure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
